For this luxury residential project, the homeowner wanted more than a traditional chandelier—they envisioned a sculptural lighting installation that would flow naturally through the center of a dramatic curved staircase while becoming the focal point of the entire home.
Working closely with the client, Hermanlamp designed and manufactured a completely customized multi-story chandelier inspired by cascading leaves and flowing waterfalls. Every dimension, glass element, and suspension point was engineered specifically for the home's architecture.
Project Requirements
The residence features an elegant circular staircase extending across multiple floors with a large open ceiling void. Because of the height and curved geometry, a standard chandelier would have appeared too small and visually disconnected from the space.
The client requested a fixture that would:
- Create a dramatic vertical statement across multiple floors
- Follow the circular architecture of the staircase
- Produce soft, warm illumination without glare
- Feature handcrafted artistic glass rather than traditional crystal
- Be fully customized to match the ceiling opening and stair dimensions
Custom Design Solution
Instead of using conventional crystal components, Hermanlamp developed a layered composition of handcrafted textured glass leaves.
Each glass piece features a unique organic texture that softly diffuses light while creating beautiful reflections from every angle.
The chandelier gradually tapers from a wide circular canopy to a narrow sculptural point, creating the appearance of a waterfall floating through the center of the staircase.
Every suspension cable was individually positioned to maintain balance while preserving the elegant flowing silhouette.

Handmade Glass Details
One of the defining features of this project is the handcrafted glass.
Each leaf is individually formed, giving every piece subtle variations in texture and transparency. Installation Process
Large staircase chandeliers require careful planning before installation.
Our engineering team prepared a custom suspension layout to ensure even weight distribution and perfect alignment throughout the multi-story installation.
Each glass leaf was installed individually after the metal framework had been secured, allowing the installers to fine-tune spacing and orientation while protecting every handcrafted component during assembly.
